Kelly Freestone and Kate Baldwin are the Directors of Elite Choice Home Care which has been providing Domiciliary Care in Mid Sussex since 2013. Having witnessed the increasing loneliness and isolation experienced by our clients at the height of the Covid Pandemic they began to explore provision and accessibility of adult day services and sought to truly understand what aspects of community life our clients felt they were missing out on.

Inspired by the channel 4 documentary ‘Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds’. Oaks and Acorns was established in July 2021and aims to become the first fully integrated intergenerational care facility in the local area. Whilst each client group will have a dedicated space, there will be opportunities throughout the day for them to come together for joint activities. This integration has proven benefits, with improved health outcomes for the elderly and a positive impact on the development of the children.
